When the bullet bounces off a solid object and then hits someone or something, they say they caught a ricochet. She talks about him having to kill her and killing himself in the process because her tears ricochet. That sounds like battle, some kind of gunfight, or duel. It's told after the fact. Several re-recorded albums later, the whole world knows not to mess with Taylor, in business, or personally (because her art is both). All the flack she gets just fuels her to make better art, write better, perform better. Her opponents are creating their own doom. It's serious poetic justice on many levels.
